Amplid Multiplayer Ski
Know that one controller with the loose joystick, the sticky buttons, and the habit of steering you into a corner no matter where you're trying to go? Yeah, the Amplid Multiplayer Ski isn't anything like that. It's a versatile and precise tool that comes ready to slay chunder-filled levels, beat big-booter bosses, and set all kinds of pow-course speed records (and on the same run, if it's that sort of day) . Amplid pressed the Multiplayer into its Camrock profile, but this version has more camber and a gentler tip rocker than the full-on look of the Hill Bill. This provides more edge bite and control in hard and mixed snow, although the Jekyll & Hyde geometry that Amplid uses across its line already delivers an impressive combination of effective edge and surface area into a fairly tight package. At 17m, the sidecut behaves aggressively when you lay the ski over hard on its edge, but smooth and not grabby in soft snow, and the tapered tip and tail won't hook up in pow and send you for a rag-doll ride. Inside, the Multiplayer features an energetic Omni wood core, which has been overlaid with a pre-stretched Triaxial glass laminate that won't lose its energy after repeated flexing, giving the ski consistent behavior over its lifetime. Amplid also went all-in with basalt suspension strips, arranged in a V-pattern, which keep the ski torsionally stiff and poppy from tip to tail, not squirrelly or over-eager when transitioning from edge to edge. Roundtop sidewalls roll directly into the topsheet to keep it from chipping, and softer tips encourage you to earn extra points for creativity on landings; butter and spin your way down pillow lines and these tips won't dive even if you wanted them to.
